NOTES: The 1920s version of the Bernice is seen in the ads with 15 jewels, but I am not sure that the 1930s version had so many jewels--meaning the 7 jewel movement in this watch may be correct. There is an interesting ad dated 1931 that shows and describes nine different ladies' models. All of the watches in that ad, except for the Bernice, state the jewel count (15 jewels for all of them). The absence of the jewel count has been seen in other ads as a way to de-emphasize the lower quality movement (e.g., 1951 Walton ad with unadvertised seven jewels). It is also worth nothing that, in the 1931 ad, the Bernice has the lowest price--another possible indication of a movement with less than 15 jewels.
