NOTES:   I am tentatively calling this model an American Nurse, though the dial and hands differ from those shown in the advertisements.  This example has lumed numbers and hands, typical of the military styling seen in some models of the mid-1940s.  My 1943 version of the American Nurse has gilt numbers and hands that match the ad.  The measurements of this example and my 1943 American Nurse are identical.  It is not uncommon to see alternative dial styles, particularly in the mid-1940s, but, nevertheless, the ID should be considered tentative until an ad comes along lending support to this different version of the watch. 

 

There appears to be no difference between the American Nurse and the Canadian Nurse, and I know of no way to determine whether a Bulova was manufactured in the US or Canada.  Since I found it in the US, I'm calling it the American Nurse.  Ads for both models are shown below.
