NOTES:   According to the crystal catalogs, there are three watches that take this size and shape crystal.  They are 1) the third generation Lone Eagle,  2) the Edwin, and 3) the Allerton.  Note that the crystal is rather distinctive due to its rounded corners.  We know what the Lone Eagle looks like (see Lone Eagle Models and Bulova Lone Eagle Series), so that leaves the Allerton and Edwin as possibilities for this watch.  We now have an ad for the Edwin (see 1931 Edwin), so that leaves the Allerton as the tentative ID for this watch.  I now have two examples of this model, the other one of which has a white gold, unengraved case.  The dimensions--including the crystal dimensions--and the year of production are the same for both watches.  Both watches also have the rather unusual 21-jewel 10AN movement.
