NOTES: The only advertisement showing this case for this time period is the Director ad shown below. However, that ad shows and describes diamonds on the dial. I am aware of one other example, in addition to mine, where the diamonds are not present. My assumption is that the diamond-less model was offered as an option, though not advertised (or we don't yet have the advertisement). The ladies' models are sometimes seen advertised with and without diamonds under the same model name, so the same is possible here.
